Despite not playing since September, Sancho, 23, only took 22 minutes before getting his first goal contribution for the club.

The assist provided Dortmund with their second goal of the game against Darmstadt in the Bundesliga.

Donyell Malen played a brilliant ball through to Sancho, who showed his composure and squared it to Marco Reus to fire home.

Manchester United fans have been left fuming on social by the instant impact from Sancho.

Club legend Gary Neville reacted to to the goal on social media as he posted to laughing emojis.

Many supporters took aim at manager Erik ten Hag.

One posted: “Ten Hag was “holding Sancho back.”

A second wrote: “Ten hag in mud.”

A third fan commented: “Ten Hag was the problem.”

A fourth said: “Jadon Sancho assist in his first game back for Borussia Dortmund Manchester United may actually be cursed.”

However some fans suggested that Sancho has benefitted from the Bundesliga being of less quality than the Premier League.

One claimed: “Farmers league.”

Another added: “Farmers League nothing special.”

Dortmund won the match 3-0, with Youssoufa Moukoko adding the third in the 92nd minute.

Sancho had not kicked a ball since he was left out of the squad for United’s trip to Arsenal in September, with Ten Hag citing his “performances in training.”

The attacker then took to social media and claimed he was made a “scapegoat” by Ten Hag.

He then refused to apologise and was banned from training and all first-team facilities.

Sancho will spend the rest of the season at Dortmund but will return to Old Trafford in the summer as there is no option to make the move permanent.
