Despite this, Phillips is more than happy to lend a hand to her friends while they build their dating profiles.

“You need another set of eyes – or four sets of eyes – of people who know you best,” the actress said. “Even before I was single, I would do it for my friends.”

This comment was the first public address of her marriage since her initial announcement of their separation.

Philipps and Silverstein tied the knot in 2007 and have welcomed two kids together, Cricket Pearl, 10 and Birdie Leigh, 15.

The couple initially split a year before their announcement, which she revealed in an episode of her popular podcast, Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best.

The Mean Girls actress and Silverstein decided to go against the typical split announcement.

“Marc and I talked about it, and when we first separated, we couldn’t even think about putting one of those statements out – it made us sick, both of us, truly ill.”

She also added further context as to why the pair decided to wait to share their news with the public.

“It was just a safer bet to not.”

Philipps added, getting emotional: “The surest way that Marc and I have been able to ensure the privacy of our kids that we love so f—ing much was by not involving the public.”
