We found an abandoned supercar covered in dirt & debris… MICE were living inside but we brought the motor back to life

A PAIR of car cleaning experts have revealed how they brought an abandoned supercar back to life after finding it covered in debris in the woods.

RJ and Brent, who run WD Detailing in Ohio, said their hearts were “breaking” after finding the “dream car” in such a sorry state.

They bought the Honda Acura NSX from its owner, who said he had snapped it up in a similar condition a couple of years earlier, claiming it was “the cheapest NSX in the country”.

Things had got so bad that the boot was dripping with water from damp, while the wheel rotors were bright orange from severe rust.

In a video documenting the process on YouTube, RJ said: “After thousands of comments wanting us to save it, we heard you guys loud and clear.

“This Honda’s an icon, sitting out here in the middle of Traverse City, Michigan.

“Who does that? You know how many people’s dream car this is?

“My heart is breaking right now.”

Thankfully, the boys were able to agree a deal with owner Bill, who also sold them an Audi R8 that was the subject of a previous clip, and load it up onto their trailer to take back to their shop and start work.

The first step was vacuuming off all the loose debris, dead leaves and cobwebs that had built up on the bodywork over the years.

They even found a makeshift nest of sorts where mice had been living in the boot, apparently with the smell to match, leaving RJ gagging.

A thorough pressure was next on the list and got the car back into somewhere close to a respectable shape, allowing viewers a better view of the sleek black paint job and shapely curves of the NSX.

The engine bay got a similar treatment, with the team also giving the grimy metal parts a scrub by hand.

Indeed, they were given quite a shock when one of the mice that had made the Honda its home scurried out of the front bumper area and ran off to find new accommodation.

Inside, the team stripped out the seats and washed down all the carpets, floor mats and surfaces, including some which were suffering from some nasty black mould.

Finally, the bodywork was polished and buffed, leaving the NSX sparkling and almost as good as new.

Social media commenters were stunned by the transformation.

One wrote: “Fantastic job on not just a detail, but a resurrection of this classic.”

Another added: “It’s such a shame it was abandoned.”
