Nick Carter has broken his silence following the death of sister Bobbie Jean Carter late last month.

The Backstreet Boys star, 43, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram to his sibling, who died at the age of 41, saying he was “completely heartbroken”.

“It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years – most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean,” Nick began in his post, regarding the tragic deaths in his family.

“I am completely heartbroken. Thank you for all your love and kind words.”

“I’m so sorry Nick, I cannot imagine how hard this must be. Brian and I are sending you so much love,” Sharna Burgess commented underneath Nick’s post.

Bobbie Jean died on December 23 in Florida, at the age of 41.

TMZ spoke with Bobbie Jean’s mother, Jane Carter, who confirmed the death.

“I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter,” she told the outlet.

“I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time,” she added, referring to the deaths of her two other children.

In 2022, former child star Aaron died after drowning in his home. The Carters also lost their other daughter, Leslie, in 2012 as a result of an overdose.

Bobbie Jean struggled with addiction over the years, a storyline that was explored on the family’s reality show.
