An interview with Taylor Swift is sweeping the internet right now, sending fans into a frenzy. Except this interview was done 15 years ago.
A fan resurfaced the 2009 Glamour magazine interview on X (formerly Twitter), during which the music superstar discussed her romantic life, seemingly manifesting her relationship with Travis Kelce.
Riding the wave of her freshly released Fearless album, 19-year-old Swift was asked if she would need to date someone of a “similar level of success”.
At the time, Swift was less than a year out of her relationship with Jonas Brother, Joe Jonas who she says broke up with her over the phone, inspiring Forever and Always.
The singer revealed that any new relationship she starts will have to be “long-distance, even if I date the boy who lives next door to me in Nashville. I’ll be flying to see him and flying him places to see me.”

This prediction came 14 years before Swift and Kelce made their debut as a couple, and started flying across the county to see each other as she performed her Eras tour and he played for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.
Swift continued in her interview, “It feels like it would involve more scheduling, and I already deal with a lot of scheduling in my life.”
“Of course, if I met somebody who was worth it, I would probably stop thinking that way!” the singer explained.
When asked if Swift felt she needed to date someone at a “similar level” of success, her answer had fans buzzing with excitement, thinking her response manifested Kelce.

Despite dating stars in the past, like John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Calvin Harris, Harry Styles and, most recently, Joe Alwyn, Swift said her partner’s level of fame is not the important part.
“I think it’s more a question of confidence. I wouldn’t want to be with a pushover who would let me make all the plans and have all the control,” Swift shared.
“It’s really natural for me to go into planning mode, but I’d rather be with someone who has his own voice and passion and ambition.”
Despite mostly keeping relationship commentary to herself, during her recent TIME interview, the star revealed she’s no longer holding her cards as close to her chest. Though she does intend to keep some things private.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said.
“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone.
“And we’re just proud of each other.”
