The budget Tenerife hotel with its own replica Disney castle and McDonalds-style snack bar

WHILE overnight stays inside Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World Florida are hard to come by, one woman might’ve found a pocket-friendly alternative.

Danielle Mclean, 35, from Edinburgh, visited a hotel in Tenerife four times last year to get a similar fix.

Set in Golf Del Sur Tenerife, the Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife hotel is a stone’s throw away from Tenerife Airport and just a short walk away from a nearby beach.

In addition to its ideal location, the hotel is also home to its very own fairytale-inspired castle, which has been likened to the Disney castle.

Danielle, who is a retail employee, first visited the hotel in March 2023, with her parents, for their 40th wedding anniversary.

The family opted for an all-inclusive package, which Danielle described as “better than all the other all-inclusive hotels I’ve visited.”

Set in the heart of the hotel, the yellow castle, with its blue turrets, was one of Danielle’s favourite features of the resort.

While resort guests can book to stay inside the castle for as little as £113 per night, the castle also has other, quirky, features.

Danielle told Sun Online Travel: “You can get special messages projected onto the outside of the castle for an additional fee.

“I organised one for my parents’ wedding anniversary. It was really good. My dad fell asleep before he saw the message, but my mum saw the message.”

When Danielle returned for her birthday, she also had a message projected onto the castle.

Every night a light show, complete with music, takes place on the walls of the castle.

Danielle added: “It’s like Tenerife’s very own Times Square.”

After four visits to the Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife, Danielle has worked out the best room to book for the best views of the castle.

She said: “My favourite room to book is 2510, because it has a double balcony with a view right in front of the castle.”

The retail employee recently shared this tidbit in a video on her YouTube channel, Danielle UK, and joked that she hasn’t been able to book the room since.

Because of her YouTube videos, Danielle is now recognised by other holidaymakers.

Danielle added: “It’s kind of crazy I get people stopping me in the hotel, asking if my name is Danielle, and they tell me they’ve seen my videos before coming.

In addition to the Disney-style castle, there are several swimming pools surrounding the castle, including a family-friendly swimming pool, a waterpark, a splash pool, an infinity pool, and foam parties on Friday nights.

Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife is also home to three a la carte restaurants, including a Japanese restaurant, an Italian restaurant, and a steak house.

From the menu, Danielle recommended several dishes, including sushi, vegetarian noodles, mochi, bolognese lasagne, the metre-long sausage, and the white chocolate panna cotta.

She added: “They also have a snack bar which is open from 10.30am until 6pm. It’s like a McDonald’s. You order on a screen and everything tastes similar to McDonald’s.

“Everyone loves McDonald’s, so you can’t go wrong. They have chicken burgers, chicken nuggets, cheese bites, and fries.”

Away from the hotel, Danielle recommended walking to the nearby Marina, walking to Los Abrigos to watch the planes, and heading to the supermarket.

Brit holidaymakers don’t need to fly to Spain to stay in a castle, as there are plenty in the UK.

You can stay in another fairytale castle right next to Alton Towers.

And in Wales, there is a Rapunzel-style fairytale tower for just £40pp a night.
