DRIVERS have been warned over a new type of speed camera that is set to be rolled out in 2024.
Abigayle Andre, who runs She Talks Cars, took to her TikTok channel to urge motorists to watch out for the new devices, which are far more advanced than their predecessors.

The gadgets, known as “ultra cameras“, have already popped up in Greater Manchester and Devon and Cornwall for trial runs, catching hundreds of drivers breaking the law.
In the clip, Abigayle said: “These new camera have just been rolled out across Manchester and many other places in the UK.
“They could be coming to you next.
“They’re quite different to normal speed cameras.”
She went on to share three key differences that make the new devices even more effective.
First of all, they use infrared tech to see in the dark, meaning that they don’t flash when snapping a picture of your licence plate, so you won’t know if you’ve been picked up.
Secondly, they don’t only detect speeding but are able to “see inside your car” to detect several other offences.
These include running red lights, using your phone behind the wheel and not wearing a seatbelt.
During their three-day trial on a stretch of Cornish road, over 300 motorists were caught out last August.
Thirdly, unlike other cameras, the new models can oversee multiple lanes travelling in both directions, meaning that effectively half as many are needed to police Britain’s highways.
According to Abigayle, the new cameras are being introduced in Wales and are set to arrive in Glasgow and Edinburgh soon.
She added: “These cameras already caught over 3,000 people with just four cameras in two weeks.”
Discussing the cameras’ introduction in Manchester last year, Superintendent Gareth Parkin from Greater Manchester Police’s Safer Transport Team hailed them as effective tools to enforce existing laws.
He said: “The new and upgraded speed cameras across the city region will ensure that drivers adhere to road speeds and do not engage in reckless or anti-social driving.
“GMP will not allow the safety of our roads to be compromised by dangerous drivers, and appropriate action will always be taken against offenders.”
