Ford ‘off-road behemoth’ with custom SNOW TRACKS created by motorsport icon is up for sale at eye-watering price

AN OUTRAGEOUS Ford RaptorTRAX commissioned by a motorsport icon can be yours to own… for a sizeable price.

The giant truck boasts tank-like tracks perfect for high speed driving in the snow and became a viral sensation when it featured in a 2014 video for Monster Energy.

The off-roader was first seen in a viral video that’s picked up millions of views on YouTube

Described as an “off-road behemoth” by specialist car experts at LBI Limited, this heavily-modified machine was once owned by rally legend Ken Block.

The motorsport icon and stunt driver, who also featured on Top Gear, died in January 2023 at the age of 55 after a snowmobile crash near his home in Utah, US.

Block was also a popular figure on social media, with more than 7.6million followers on Instagram and 2million on YouTube.

Indeed, the Ford RaptorTRAX was first seen by fans in a video for Monster Energy and has over 5million views on YouTube.

The supercharged beast’s most prominent feature is its lack of conventional wheels, which have been replaced with a set of custom tracks that are perfect for use in snow, mud, gravel and even across rocks.

However, when needed, these tracks can be removed and the original wheels can be reinstalled.

Additionally, the Ford boasts a number of features added by off-road company SVC Offroad – these include underbody skid plates, SVC long bars and tubular bumpers, as well as a roll cage, a custom rear bed cage, a waterproof outdoor stereo system, Recaro Sportster leather and suede seats in the bed.

The original 5.4-litre V8 has also been removed and replaced with a 6.2-litre V8 coupled to a Whipple supercharger – which can produce a frightening 650bhp.

It also comes in its striking Monster Energy livery.

LBI Limited have listed the vehicle for wealthy rally fans to buy at $195,000, which is roughly £150,000.

The company has sold a handful of Block’s motors in the past, including his 1986 Ford RS200, 2013 Ford Fiesta ST RX43, 2011 Ford Fiesta GYM3 and the famed 1977 Ford F-150 Hoonitruck.

Elsewhere, a stunning “track-focussed” superbike previously owned by Top Gear legend James May has gone up for auction with just 490 miles on the clock.

This comes as a Ford Capri sat in ‘slightly fallen down garage’ for 40 years was discovered.
