RAPHAEL VARANE is heading for a free transfer this summer – as one of two defenders that Gary Neville hopes Manchester United ditch.
The Red Devils have reportedly declined to trigger an extension to Varane‘s contract, meaning he can talk to foreign clubs in January.

And United legend Neville would be “worried” if Victor Lindelof was allowed to stay.
But it’s understood the Red Devils have opted to hand the Swede an extra year on his deal – keeping him until 20225.
In contrast, the Mail say United have made up their mind to let Varane go.
The France centre-back, 30, has been beset by injuries but has also fallen out of favour with boss Erik ten Hag this season.
Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans are now regularly being chosen ahead of him.
Ex-England defender Neville posted on X: “If United are looking to renew Lindelof and Varane (on reduced terms) I’m worried.
“We have to start afresh as much as possible.
“Whilst these 2 aren’t bad players by any stretch, a message must be sent to everyone inside and outside of the club that it’s not going to tolerate the levels over the last few years.”
Varane’s old club Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could be interested in the 2018 World Cup winner.

But the 93-cap star is understood to be United’s top earner.
That could be a big problem for some of his admirers.
