I spent £10k turning my hatchback into a ‘cute as hell’ mobile coffee shop… I only needed to make a simple modification

A MAN has converted a 33-year-old Fiat Panda into a coffee bar to launch an ingenious on-the-go cafe.

Brendan Cull, 39, has spent 18 years working in theatre but decided to open a “quirky” coffee shop on wheels and travel up and down the UK.

Speaking to The Express, Brendan said: “I started a sourdough business during lockdown and fantasised about a mobile coffee bar.

“Three years later I finally took the plunge.”

The red 1990 Fiat Panda, nicknamed Bianca, was chosen because it “ticks all the boxes”.

Brendan said: “It’s cheap to run, the angle of the boot means I can get better access to the espresso machine and it’s cute as hell.”

The motor boasts a coffee machine, generator and storeroom in the back, and required very few changes to get it all to fit.

He explained: “We had to modify the structure of the inside and remove the back seats, but that’s pretty much it.”

Brendan, whose brilliant coffee business can be found on Instagram, now has big plans as we head into 2024.

He said: “My plan is to find a local weekday pitch where it will operate like your local cafe and then hopefully small events and weddings at the weekend.

“Occasionally a day off, so far I have only done one small event but I have a number of irons in the fire for the new year.”

This comes as another creative mind turned their Ford Fiesta into a campervan using sheets of cardboard and chunks of old wood.

Elsewhere, an ultra-rare toy car that was originally bought for 50p at a car boot sale is now set to fetch a huge sum at auction.

The miniature motor is a scale replica of the Jaguar XJ5.3C that appeared in the beloved espionage thriller series The New Avengers, which ran from 1976 to 1977.
