Despite still being considered by many as one of the best players in the world and the leading scorer in the world in 2023 with 53 goals, the Al-Nassr forward was snubbed from the top 10.

His old foe Lionel Messi still made the cut with the Inter Miami ace considered the third best player of the year by the IFFHS.

Man City’s Erling Haaland ranked No1 after his record-breaking season that saw the Cityzens wrap up an historic Treble.

The top 10 list was shared on Instagram by Portuguese newspaper A Bola before Ronaldo stumbled across it on his social media.

The 38-year-old decided to comment below the post which revealed the rankings with three laughing faces and an emoji of a monkey covering its eyes.

Fans seem to think that the former Manchester United star’s reaction was as a result of being excluded from the list and took to the comments to give their opinions.

One wrote: “Bro’s pushing 40 and moaning about IFFHS awards.”

While a second added: “He was actually crying, not laughing!”

A third joked: “Give him the crying d’Or.”

A number of fans even labelled Ronaldo as a “crybaby” in the comments section for his reaction.

Other fans agreed with him and cited his goalscoring record as the reason he should have been on the list.

One wrote: “Well he’s right. What did Messi do in 2023? Nothing. Ronaldo is the top scorer of the year so he should at least be in the top 10!”

The superstar finished 2023 as the highest scoring player in the world after he netted an outstanding 53 goals in just 58 matches.

He beat out Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe by one goal while he scored three more than list-topper Haaland.

It’s not the first time that the Ronaldo has reacted to being snubbed for an award.

Earlier this season he responded in a similar way online when Lionel Messi was awarded his record eighth Ballon d’Or award following his World Cup success in Qatar.
