Jarome Luai is engaged!

The NRL star announced the happy news on social media on Christmas Day, with the 26-year-old five-eighth pictured on Instagram kissing his future bride, who is proudly holding out her left hand for the camera.

“Forever with my best friend 💍❤️ #bestchristmas,” Luai’s long-term partner Bailey Paris Toleafoa wrote alongside the snaps.

Luai himself also wrote on his Instagram Story alongside a snap of the ring: “My best friend said yes”.

He also poked fun at his controversial speech given at Penrith Panthers teammate Brian To’o’s wedding earlier this year, writing over a congratulatory message from To’o: “Nah no speeches at my wedding”.

“My guyyyys! Couldn’t be more happy for a deserving couple,” To’o, who had Luai as his best man when he married Sala Moesha Crichton-Ropati, had originally written in congratulations to the couple.

As did Canberra Raiders prop Josh Papali’i, who commented on Luai’s post: “Bongrats usoooo ❤️❤️❤️”.

Luai’s proposal comes as fans eagerly await his final decision about where he’s going to be playing in the future.

He has reportedly accepted a $6 million, five-year contract with Penrith Panthers’ rival the Wests Tigers from 2025, but it’s yet to be finalised.

Luai is understood to have told his Penrith Panthers teammates about the contract, as a new ‘cooling off’ period dictates that he has to notify his club 10 days before the deal is finalised.

The athlete, who won three premierships in a row with the team, shares three children with Toleafoa: Izzy, Akira and Halo.
