If you’re travelling from a large airport with multiple terminals that you need to get a tram to, you could definitely find yourself in a bit of a pickle.
You might choose to wait in the main area rather than huddling around the gate – but being far away from where you’re about to take off could prove difficult.
Anton Radchenko, the founder and CEO of AirAdvisor, has told how even though you’ve been informed that the flight is delayed, it could quickly change.
And moving away from the gate could cost you thousands of pounds in paying for more plane tickets.
He said: “Flight delays can be reversed if the original cause of delay is resolved quicker than expected.
“For example, there might be a mechanical failure or air congestion, which gets fixed in a shorter time frame than previously expected.
“My top advice while waiting out a delay is to stick to your original travel schedule despite the announcement of the delay.
“Stay close to your gate and check for regular updates.”
