A WOMAN who’s spent her life transforming a truck into a cosy camper is finally happy with her dream life out on the open roads.
But despite the luxurys of living an off-grid lifestyle Kenzie and her dog Kai do still struggle without a cooker, wardrobe or even a real toilet.

Kenzie lives in the fully renovated truck home that sits at around 50sqft and is made up of a 2016 Toyota Tundra with a 2014 Camplite 57 attached to the back of it but she has to use a bucket everytime she needs to use the bathroom.
Overall the swanky way of living cost Kenzie just over £37,000 – miles cheaper than paying rent or owning a house.
On the inside, there is a comfy bench acting as a regular sofa which Kenzie also uses as a kitchen table and a desk.
In a genius move, Kenzie has overcome the challenge of not owing a wardrobe by stuffing her pillow full of winter outfits to give them somewhere to live.
A big cabinet also sits in the middle of the camper that is used as a kitchen counter and a useful storage space.
Perhaps the most interesting thing Kenzie keeps in the cabinet is her toilet.
A toilet is an essential for anyone’s home but in such a small space you can’t have a proper loo with actual plumbing so instead Kenzie uses a bucket with a makeshift toilet seat on it.
Kenzie described her slightly odd urination routine as “not glorious by any means but it works and it does not smell up the camper”.
She continued: “I picked the bucket situation because there wasn’t room to put an actual composting toilet in here so I needed something really small, compact that was easily removable.
“And it was super economical because it only cost me $30 and I exclusively use this toilet and have had no issues and its nice during road trips.”
Kenzie also has a big love for plants and they can be seen littered all over her little home.
A water filter is used for fresh drinking water and a tiny kitchen area doubles up as a bathroom as well.
The proud homeowner happily uses the sink to help with cooking but also to brush her teeth into and wash her hands.
But that’s pretty much all there is to the kitchen as there’s no actual cooker or anywhere to make food.
For this she uses an outside grill in the proper old fashioned way of camping she’s grown to love.
Cabinets surround the sink with essentially one drawer per section with an electronics, kitchenware and clothing drawer all seperate.
An old school radio is also used as a form of entertainment as there’s no TV.
In a surprising move Kenzie recently traded in the fridge in her home for more storage space.
The power needed to run a fridge was simply too much for Kenzie so she pulled the plug and now uses it as another cupboard to keep her dry food inside.
Van life was instantly a hit with Kenzie after she had a few years of struggling in her personal life.
She said: “Life really is short and I didn’t want to be stuck in an office for the rest of my life till retirement to then explore so I decided to panic buy a bus and converted that until i finished school and I have not looked back since.”
Most of the space in the van is took up by a full queen sized bed that’s shared by Kenzie and her dog that she’s dubbed a “very comfy sleeping spot”.
The comfy spot sits slightly raised in the truck and sits near to a propane heater for those bitter winter nights and an AC unit for those warmer days.
Another van lifer has opened up on how easy and care-free his life is while living full-time in a converted camper.
Posting on TikTok, Richard (@indi_van_a_jones) revealed what his day-to-day life is like while living in a 2019 Volkswagen Crafter.
Whilst a digital nomad has revealed one of the biggest challenges he experiences while living in a van after documenting his travels on social media to fund his adventures since he moved out of his apartment in 2022.
