Car cleaning expert reveals 80p household item that will leave your car mats ‘looking new’ in just minutes

A CLEANING pro has revealed a household item which costs 80p and will get your car mats “looking like new” in just minutes.

Chantel Mila, known on TikTok as ‘@mama_mila’, took to the social media site to show her 1.4million followers just how to do it.

The influencer gives out styling, organising and cleaning tips and hacks and has built up a huge audience

As the footage begins, she is shown removing the filthy mats from her white Toyota RAV4.

It then cuts to her cleaning them as the caption says: “Use a squeegee to dislodge hair from car rugs before vacuuming to make them look new.”

After giving them a good going over with the squeegee, she is shown giving the mats a vacuum.

Homewares store Dunelm is currently selling a squeegee for just 80p.

She doesn’t stop there though and shows other hacks and tips to get your vehicle spotlessly clean.

Chantel says she uses “cleaning slime” to remove dust in hard to reach areas such as the bottom of drinks holders.

She also recommended using lemon oil on your leather seats as not only does it get them sparkling clean it also smells nice.

Well on the outside of your car, Chantel said using a microfibre mop made cleaning your vehicle easy.

Lastly, she suggested using a mixture of lemon and baking soda to make your headlights “sparkle”.

The short video has been a big hit, notching up 1.5m views along with 108,000 likes and 100 comments.

Most commentators were thankful for the tips.

One wrote: “The mop is such a good idea. OMG.”

Another said: “Love your hacks.”

Although a third thought it was all too much hassle and suggested: “Just got to a company  to get it clean.”
