A MOTOR expert has revealed a “genius” button that can demystify rearview mirrors without even having to touch them – and drivers are stunned over the hack.

In a video posted on the social media site, the motor enthusiast first breaks it to his followers they don’t have to lean out to clean misty rearview mirrors.
Instead, he shows a hidden on the door panel and indicates to turn it to the left.
He then shows the rear defogger button in the centre instrument cluster and asks to turn it on.
According to the expert, this will defog the wing mirrors – without even touching them.
The resourceful video on TikTok was liked by more than 2,000 people – and more than 200 people commented on the post.
One wrote: “This trick is genius!”
Another said: “My car has that feature, it is amazing and very helpful.”
A third said: “Secret switches that make life easy.”
Meanwhile, another motor expert revealed an easy way to remove ice from your windscreen.
In a YouTube clip, influencer @wonderhacksandfacts first urges drivers to sprinkle a common household item over the windshield.
He explained: “Picture this, winter’s here and your windshield is a sheet of ice.
“What do you do? Simple, keep a small container of salt in your car.
“Why, you ask? Salt lowers the freezing point of water, making it an effective ice remover.
“Sprinkle a little on your windshield and watch as the ice begins to melt away.
A few swipes with your scraper and you’re good.”
Salt, when mixed with water, can melt ice within seconds as it has a low freezing point.
The expert recommends that motorists have a container of salt in their car, or create the solution in a spray bottle to use before setting off.
However, make sure you don’t add too much salt to the mixture, as doing so can cause streaks in the window – affecting visibility.
He continued: “Remember, you don’t need a lot, just enough to get the job done.
“So next time throws you a frosty curveball, you’ll be ready with your trusty container of salt.
“And that’s your quick tip for challenging winter’s icy grip.

It comes as one expert revealed the crucial warning signs your car needs winter tyres.
Drivers have been told what to look out for as weather worsens, in the aftermath of Storm Ciarán which has caused chaos and with the chilly festive season looming.
Car gurus say that while summer tyres tend to be the default for vehicles, it does pay to look into alternative options for winter.
Stiff summer tyres, with shallow treads, work well in climates ranging from seven to 40 degrees – giving good grip in both dry and wet conditions.
