Donny van de Beek’s Man Utd transfer exit at risk of collapsing as Eintracht Frankfurt hit stumbling block in talks

DONNY VAN DE BEEK’S huge wages could block a move to his keenest admirers Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Germans remain favourites to land the Manchester United outcast on loan in January ahead of admirers from LaLiga.

Donny van de Beek seems likely to move in the new year but his £6m-a-year wages are said to be out of Eintracht’s reachGetty

But despite holding advanced transfer talks, Eintracht reportedly can’t afford the 26-year-old’s monthly pay of around £500,000.

Spanish league leaders Girona are also hovering for VDB, while even Barcelona and Juventus have been mentioned.

And the former Ajax playmaker revealed a summer switch to Real Sociedad fell through “at the last minute”.

Eintracht remain confident of luring Van de Beek for the rest of the season.

But Christian Faulk, of German outlet Sport Bild, claims VDB’s £6million annual salary is simply beyond the seventh-placed Bundesliga club.

The 19-cap star has never been a regular in his three years at Old Trafford.

He made just 10 appearances last season and has drifted even further out of the first-team picture this term, playing just twice.

VDB is under contract at United until 2025.

But it seems the player and club agree a departure is best for everyone.

A temporary exit in January now appears almost certain.

And apart from his wages, the main question might be whether any deal includes an option to buy Van de Beek next summer.
