Trolls blast us for not paying council tax but we don’t care – we quit our jobs to live in a bus & we’re SO much happier

A COUPLE on TikTok is going viral for living inside a bus in UK winters – but trolls are getting angry because of tax loopholes.

Tom and Amy, who go by the name of Vanmonkeys on social media, have quit their jobs to live inside a renovated bus – and it is as good as a full-blown flat.

They chose to build a self-contained van to live off-grid in the UK all year round – and had to make some special changes for the winter season.

In a TikTok video, the couple gave a tour and spoke about the tweaks they made to make it a perfect motor home.

To beat the harsh weather, they first picked the right insulation for their bus and used sheep wool which not only keeps them warm inside but is also sustainable and natural.

According to them, it double acts as a humidity buffer, something very important for the UK’s moist weather.

They even built a separate heating section inside the bathroom which helps them to dry off wet clothes inside the van.

The adventurous couple laid special emphasis on ventilation while living inside a van.

To get it right, they have created multiple ventilation points throughout the bus, and have carved out a large window with double-glazed glass that can be opened even on a rainy day.

Apart from the weather essentials, they have built a nice little kitchen that has a rack to store utensils and a utility sink.

They also have a sofa area to relax when they are travelling across the country.

However, living full-time in a bus means you don’t pay any council tax – and it makes trolls really angry.

In a separate TikTok video, a man called Jimmy who seems to live in a van too hit back at one such troll who commented: “You don’t pay council tax but are perfectly happy to use the services we pay for.”

Jimmy replied to that troll saying: “I pay road tax.”
