After rattling in his first time strike, Dobbin sprinted towards the corner flag with delight etched across his face.

The 20-year-old performed a knee slide and pumped his fist before being mobbed by his team-mates.

Old school Dyche, 52, loved Dobbin’s “authentic” reaction, gushing about it after the game.

Asked about Dobbin’s delight, the former Burnley boss said: “Absolutely delighted, it was a strange kind of game, tough for him as a young player.

“For him to score his goal, the authenticity of his reaction to scoring a goal was so pleasing.

“No silly dances or all this nonsense that everyone gets up to in my opinion now.

“A group of people working very hard for the result, he runs towards the corner, you watch the team, everyone runs over in a very authentic manner just to enjoy the moment and I’m absolutely delighted for that and the team to get involved with that.”

As his comments circulated online, one fan described them as “peak Sean Dyche”.

While a second enthused: “Sean Dyche is on a winning streak.”

A third wrote: “Incredible.”

And a fourth tweeted: “This is fantastic and exactly what you’d expect of Sean Dyche. Loves a no-nonsense celebration.”

Another added: “What a guy.”

Everton had already taken the lead at Goodison Park via in-form Abdoulaye Doucoure’s 54th minute strike.

Dobbin then scored his first Toffees goal in his 12th appearance.

Everton’s latest win saw them climb four points above the relegation zone, despite being slapped with a ten-point deduction.

In his BBC interview post-game, Dyche added: “The biggest thing for me is finding different ways to win matches. Today we have had to fight against a really good side.

“We were going along well [before deduction] and our form all season has been pretty good. We had to work very hard. Maximum effort from the players has got us the win.”

He then continued: “The thing for me is the squad mentality. It’s not just about the starting XI. The people outside the starting XI have been a credit to themselves.”
