Opponents Christopher Adams and Martin Macleod — an ambulance technician and paramedic — administered CPR.

They were helped by bystanders, including two cops and a nurse.

The group used a defibrillator, chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth to save him.

Peter, playing for Falkirk Fans in Training against Ness FC, said: “I would like to thank everyone who helped me, including my partner Karen and my daughter.

“If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be here today.

“It was in the last two minutes of the game and I just collapsed.”

He is recovering from a triple heart bypass but is back at work as a part-time gardener after the incident in August.

Christopher and Martin were recently shortlisted for Local Hero Awards.
