NEWCASTLE are considering a move for former Manchester United star David de Gea, according to reports.
Toon are in the market for a goalkeeper following the injury to Nick Pope.

The England goalkeeper was forced off with a shoulder injury against United and could miss the rest of the season.
Newcastle are understood to be assessing transfer options ahead of the window re-opening in January, with Martin Dubravka set to deputise until a replacement is found.
Former United goalkeeper De Gea is one player on the club’s shortlist, report the Daily Mail.
The Spaniard, 33, has been searching for a club since leaving the Red Devils in the summer but would likely demand big wages.
He earned £375,000 a week at Old Trafford but would reportedly be willing to accept a significant wage cut to join Newcastle.
De Gea, has been linked to Real Betis and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq since leaving the Premier League.
He is even believed to have snubbed a £500,000-a-week deal at Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
De Gea has been spending much of his free time with his pop star wife Edurne and the couple posed for a loved up selfie in Manchester as they each enjoyed a glass of wine over the weekend.

De Gea spent 12 years at United and made 545 appearances for the club.
