Motorists can defrost car’s windscreen in seconds first thing in the morning with three handy methods

DRIVERS are just learning of a handy product that can defrost a car’s windscreen in seconds… hopefully putting to rest everyone’s least-favourite morning chore.

All it takes is a spray bottle, some water and an everyday product that only costs a couple of quid.

Motoring experts at Rooster Car Insurance, via their TikTok channel, gave road-users three handy methods to de-ice car windows on frosty mornings.

Rooster first advises drivers to “never pour boiling water on a frozen windscreen” as it can cause glass to crack and shatter.

Instead, they suggest using a solution of 90 percent rubbing alcohol and water mixed together in a spray bottle.

Rubbing alcohol can be found in many large supermarkets or hardware stores, and usually costs around £3.00.

Rooster says: “If you spray this solution onto your windscreen in the morning, it’ll get rid of the ice.”

They also suggest using a small sealable bag filled with warm water – NOT boiling – to rub on a car’s frozen windscreen.

This will help melt a thin layer of ice or snow that’s resting on top of the glass.

But Rooster says the “best thing to do” is to simply wake up on time and simply use the car’s heater to warm up inside and melt any ice or snow naturally.

This comes after road-users discovered a “super fast” gadget from Argos that can defog a windscreen and it keep ice away on a winter day.

What’s more, a van-lifer showed fans a clever DIY hack to stop a windscreen frosting over… for just £2.50.

All you need is some foil insulation, some tape, a few carpet scraps, some adhesive spray and a trusty pair of scissors… and it only takes five minutes to make.

Meanwhile, drivers have been warned that they risk a £5,000 fine for getting into the festive spirit this Christmas.

A little-known road law could see you slapped with a penalty if you are too merry behind the wheel.
