Johnny Depp has made his first official public appearance in months, hitting the red carpet at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
The Hollywood star, 60, donned a black suit as he attended the opening night of the festival for a screening of HWJN.
It comes after reports the Pirates of the Caribbean star wants to reprise his role in the hit Disney franchise, following his infamous and highly-publicised defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

For the outing, Depp looked smart in a tailored black suit and teamed the look with his signature jewellery and glasses.
His appearance comes after his good friend Shane MacGowan’s death at the age of 65. They were friends for more than 30 years.
The singer-songwriter and frontman of the Celtic punk band The Pogues died on November 30, days after he was released from hospital, following a long health battle.

In May, Depp celebrated the release of his latest film, Jeanne du Barry, which told the story of the last mistress of Louis XV.
According to People, Depp is keen to repair his relationship with Disney and work together on a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Though the star previously said he felt betrayed by the company, an insider says he has changed his tune: “Anything is possible. If it’s the right project, he’ll do it.”
Meanwhile, Disney is also reportedly interested in a potential collaboration – last month, the New York Times reported that Disney was “seemingly inching the door open” to working with the star again.
This news comes after Depp’s infamous and highly-publicised defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
There were questions in Hollywood about whether Depp could return to his career following the scandalous headlines that followed him.
A former Disney exec told People at the time, “I absolutely believe post-verdict that Pirates is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board. There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture.”
During a cross-examination in court, Depp said that he was “shocked” and “hurt” when Disney chose to drop him from the sixth Pirates movie, an act that Depp attributes to allegations against him made by Heard.
“It was like somebody hit me in the back of the head with a 2×4… Captain Jack Sparrow was a character I built from the ground up,” he said in court. “I didn’t quite understand how, after that long relationship and quite a successful relationship certainly for Disney, that suddenly I was guilty until proven innocent.”
Last year, producer Jerry Bruckheimer announced that they were working on two scripts for a new Pirates movie, one of which had Margot Robbie attached to star in a lead role. Bruckheimer said, however, that Depp wasn’t involved with either of those two projects.
When asked about the actor, he said “Not at this point” but “the future is yet to be decided.”
