Heartbreaking footage shows Neymar screaming in pain as Brazilian superstar tries to recover from sickening injury

SHOCKING footage has emerged of Neymar writhing in pain as he attempts to recover from his devastating ACL injury.

The Brazilian, 31, left the pitch in tears last month after suffering cruciate ligament and meniscus damage while playing for his country against Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier.

Since then, he has undergone surgery which could rule him out for TEN MONTHS.

But while he looks set to miss the remainder of the Saudi Pro League season, he is still optimistic when it comes to making the Copa America in June.

And the long road back has already started as Neymar was filmed beginning his rehab on the serious injury.

In one of the clips, he can be seen screaming: “Go back for the love of God,” as doctors attempt to work on his leg.

Neymar shrieks in pain as the ex-Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star treats his right leg.

Someone to the side of the camera can be heard saying: “Pull it hard, Ney, let’s go. Hang in there, Ney, come on.”

Neymar replies: “It’s going to fall,” before what is presumably his rehab coach adds: “It’s not going to fall”.

Neymar’s injury came just two months after he signed a £2.5million-a-week deal with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.

He is set to pocket £107m while sidelined for the rest of the domestic campaign.

Neymar contributed one goal in five matches for Al-Hilal before suffering the injury.

The Saudi side boast several other star names including Aleksandar Mitrovic, Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Neves.

Despite Neymar’s absence, Al-Hilal sit top of the Saudi Pro League table, one point clear of Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Al-Nassr.

They are unbeaten in 13 league matches, winning 11 and drawing two.
