Alli, 26, is currently on loan at Turkish side Besiktas from Everton.

With the World Cup nearing an end, Besiktas took on Belgian outfit Charleroi in a friendly on Thursday.

Alli and Co won the game 2-1, but the playmaker did miss a spot-kick during the match.

His penalty wasn’t badly struck, but keeper Herve Koffi dived brilliantly down to his left to stop Alli’s effort from nestling in the bottom corner.

Alli started the game alongside former Southampton ace Nathan Redmond.

Having received a hero’s welcome in Istanbul after joining Besiktas, Alli has scored two goals in 10 games for the club.

The midfielder starred for England at the last World Cup in Russia, netting against Sweden in the quarter-finals.

But the playmaker hasn’t played for his country in over three years.

Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs doesn’t see a way back for Alli at Goodison Park.

He recently told Football Betting: “Dele doesn’t have a future at Everton.

“It’s a strange situation because I don’t think I can ever remember a player falling off a cliff as quickly as Alli has.

“I don’t know what’s gone on in his private life but to go from being an England international to not being anywhere near that level is really bizarre.”
