United fans will be hoping that the goalkeeper can prove himself with Andre Onana suffering an injury scare.

Bayindir did make a key save in the first half as he stopped a deflected effort from Wales forward Brennan Johnson from finding its way into the net.

Onana is thought to have picked up a groin injury during Cameroon‘s clash against Mauritius.

A statement from Cameroon read: “The Cameroonian football federation informs public opinion that player Andre Onana, injured and out injured during the match against Mauritius on November 17 in Douala, is not part of the delegation of the Indomitable Lions currently in Benghazi.

“The medical imaging carried out by the doctors of the national selection revealed a condition in the pubis.

“Fecafoot (Cameroon FA) wishes a speedy recovery to the Cameroonian international.”

Bayindir will also be hoping for some game time in January as Onana is still expected to take part in the African Cup of Nations.
