Sam Kerr has shared photos from the moment she proposed to Kristie Mewis.
A series of images, one showing the Matildas captain down on bended knee, were shared to social media more than two months after the couple’s secret engagement.
“September 1st, 2023,” Kerr, 30, captioned the photos posted to Instagram on Tuesday night, followed by a white love heart.

The couple first sparked speculation of an engagement in September when fans noticed what appeared to be a diamond ring on the ring finger of Mewis’ left hand in footage posted on Gotham FC’s official Instagram page.
Then on September 25, Kerr shared a series of happy snaps on social media in which fans again spotted the sparkler on her 32-year-old partner’s hand.

The couple kept silent on the growing speculation as Australia prepared for their three Olympic qualifier matches in Perth in October.
During that time, Kerr was also honoured with a football centre named after her, but the pair didn’t let anything slip during the press rounds.
Instead, Mewis confirmed the news in an interview with People magazine in mid-November.
And the photos from the special moment mark Kerr’s confirmation on the engagement.
Thousands of celebrities and fans alike rushed to offer their congratulations, with cricketer David Warner among the bunch.

Matildas teammate Mackenzie Arnold wrote: “Here they are love you guys.”
England’s Millie Bright, Kerr’s Chelsea teammate, added: “LOVE LOVE LOVE.”
On the sunny day of the proposal the couple were both dressed in blue – Kerr in a shirt paired with black shorts, while Mewis appeared to be in a matching knit sleeveless shirt and short combo.
No wedding date has been announced by the couple who were first linked in 2021.
But it looks like 2024 is set to be a big year for the footballers with the players hoping to represent Australia and the United States at the Paris Olympics, in between wedding planning.
