Angela Hickling demonstrated her quickfire trick to tackle her iced-up car on frosty mornings – simply using an empty bottle.

Rather than spraying on de-icer she instead grabs an empty stain-remover bottle which she fills up with warm water, Heart reported.

She recommended one particular product – Dr Beckman’s carpet stain remover, available from retail giant Tesco for £3.

Angela uses the bottle’s brush attachment to glide across the windscreen and other frosted windows – melting away any ice in mere seconds.

She posted on social media a video of how she does it, telling viewers: “I’m a genius.

“Get yourself one of these bottles, fill it with warm water and you’re sorted.

“No cold hands scraping anymore and it cleans your window screen too – the brush bit is ideal.”

More than 7,000 people have since shared the video advice, while posting praise in the comments.

One motorist wrote: “I’m literally going to fish my empty bottle out of the recycling tonight – you absolute genius.”

Another called the idea a “total game-changer”, adding: “I knew this stuff was magic but that’s just upped the scales.”

The tip comes as experts recommended tackling condensation and de-fogging windscreens with a product costing just 14p per packet.

An alternative trick taking just 20 seconds was also shared.

Other recent driving tips for winter have included people highlighting the importance of a “weird squiggles” button.

Another mum has explained on TikTok what she dubs her lazy driver parking hack for icy mornings.

And drivers have been warned they could face £10,000 bills this winter even if they’re not breaking any rules – while warnings were issued over cold weather mistakes which risk also proving costly.
