We bought a Sainsburys delivery van & transformed it into a camper… now we’re taking it on a trip to the ARCTIC

A COUPLE has transformed a Sainsbury’s delivery van into a cosy camper as they plan a trip to the Arctic.

Jess and Jon, known as the True Blue Travellers, have documented the conversion process, which they carried out themselves, on their YouTube channel.

Jon said: “We’re converting this Sainsbury’s delivery van into the ultimate winter camper.

“It’s going to take us on the trip of a lifetime to the Arctic.”

The unique build took eight weeks from start to finish but is finally complete.

They painted the motor white and stripped out the interior to give themselves a blank canvas.

After hours upon hours of painstaking work, the van has been turned into an ideal mini motorhome.

It features a self-contained electricity supply, a gas hob, space-saving storage compartments and an elevated double bed.

This means they can hop straight out of bed into the kitchen area and then walk through to the cabin to drive straight off.

They even managed to squeeze in a hidden wardrobe next to what used to be the loading door.

Unfortunately, it’s not a full-length wardrobe as they had to fit their mini-fridge underneath, not that they’ll have any issue chilling food in the icy tundra.

Likewise, they got rid of the air conditioning unit as they are in no danger of overheating as they cruise through the Arctic Circle.

Outside, they’ve wired up some spotlights and a tow port to the front of the van to help them deal with the rough and rugged terrain.

At the rear, lockable storage cupboards have been installed, one of which houses the electricity and gas supply.

In the video caption, they wrote: “Our ugly little duckling is now officially a beautiful Arctic swan.

“We had high expectations for this van but it has absolutely blown them out of the water and we can’t wait to get out on the road and see what it’s like to travel in.

“It has tested our creativity, planning and engineering skills but we are over the moon with the final result.”

They are now set to take their creation on a cold-weather test in northern Scotland before embarking on their Arctic adventure in the coming months.

It comes after a wrecked motorcycle used in a Tom Cruise stunt fetched £5,000 at a charity auction.

Meanwhile, a supercar salesman explained how he flogged a £200,000 Ferrari to a drunk punter in a nightclub.
