White van man favourite transformed into ‘extreme’ off-road camper with roof-mounted tent & beefy new look

ONE OF the world’s most iconic vehicles has been given an extreme makeover… making it perfect for off-road adventures across the harshest of terrains.

Designed by famed German tuning house Loder1899, this heavily modified Ford Transit Custom, known as the motor of choice for the ‘white van man’, boasts a range of impressive modifications perfect for the great outdoors.

Using the Ford Transit Custom ‘Nugget’ as its base, this radical campervan can tackle the wilderness with it’s 4×4 transmission and off-road friendly lift kit – raising the height of the Custom by 80mm.

The Transit also boasts 18-inch rims with chunky 255/55 R18 tyres and finished off with large wheelarch extensions.

It’s also been given a beefier new look including a front-end crash bar and two high-performance PIAA headlights – with an additional eight spotlights mounted to the roof rack.

Lovers of the outdoors will feel right at home in the roof-mounted tent along with a spare jerrycan, storage boxes, spare wheel, an all-terrain shovel and even ramps.

While this dynamic Transit Custom exists merely as a concept design for now, some version of it will be part of Loder1899’s brand revival in 2024.

The tuning house has become known in recent years for its fully-tuned versions of Aston Martins, Jaguars and Land Rovers, and is also working on a street-focused version of the Transit Custom with a lower ride and 20-inch wheels.

This comes after a luxury “LimoJet” was created by engineers who turned a de-winged private plane into the eight-seater limousine.

The road-worthy limo seats eight-people and cost $1million to convert… and it could be yours to own.

Elsewhere, an expert car valet with over a decade of experience says he was horrified by the filthiest motor he’s ever seen as it was covered in mud and even needle.
