WWE legend Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson reveals stunning ‘out of the blue’ approach for new career change

WWE legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has revealed that he was approached by political parties about running for president.

The 51-year-old wrestler and Hollywood superstar has long been linked with a run for the Oval Office.

And in the most recent episode of What Now? With Trevor Noah, Johnson revealed that last year, Democratic and Republican representatives paid I’m a visit.

“At the end of the year in 2022, I got a visit from the parties asking me if I was going to run and if I could run,” Johnson said.

“It came out of the blue and it was one after the other.”

This came a year after Newsweek released a poll that stated that “at least 46 percent of Americans would support a presidential run” by Johnson.

He continued: “And they brought up that poll (from 2021), they also brought up their own deep-dive research that would prove that should I decide ever go down that road [he could potentially win].

“It was all very surreal because that’s never been my goal. My goal has never been to be in politics.

“As a matter of fact, there’s a lot about politics that I hate.”

But despite his issues with politics, he admitted to having been “moved” by it all.

This is far from the first time Johnson has addressed the possibility of running for president.

In September, while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, he kept the door open to “maybe” throwing his name into the ring in the future.

“I don’t know if I’m the right guy or not the right guy. I gotta tell you that I have been just really overwhelmed, and so humbling, to have people tell me what they tell me and these polls that come out,” he said.

But it seems Johnson is in no rush to seriously consider the switch.

“Right now, I’m a proud girl dad, I got a seven-year-old I got a five-year-old, and I love being home taking them to school picking them up and making cookies and doing that,” Johnson explained.

“And I just know that if something like that, a presidency, would happen, all that goes away.”
