Udogie’s moment of “madness” saw Spurs go down to nine men after Cristian Romero’s earlier dismissal.

Having already been booked during the first half, the Italian slid in on Sterling in an attempt to win the ball back.

However, the Chelsea man beat him to the ball, with Udogie appearing aware he was set to be sent off by Michael Oliver.

As he trudged off the pitch and down the tunnel, though, his manager Postecoglou did not react.

The Spurs boss remained focussed on the action on the pitch as he blanked the 20-year-old defender.

Meanwhile, Gary Neville described Udogie’s tackle as “madness” following the incident.

His dismissal came after Spurs had already been reduced to 10 men in the first half.

Romero was shown a straight red card after a VAR review penalised him for a foul on Enzo Fernandez.

The challenge also resulted in a penalty for the visitors, with Cole Palmer scoring to pull his side level.

Spurs had been in front through Dejan Kulusevski before the two red cards forced them into a defensive approach.
