I’m a Toyota expert… many drivers overlook mysterious ‘Mood button’ that transforms their car’s interior

A TOYOTA expert has revealed a mysterious “Mood button” overlooked by drivers that transforms their car’s interior.

Motors enthusiast Steven Welch took to YouTube to demonstrate what the genius feature can do to your vehicle.

The cars expert revealed a hidden button on some Toyota models

The ‘Mood button’ is located inside your vehicle

The auto professional lifted the lid on the meaning behind the mysterious “Mood button” located inside your vehicle.

Footage shows Steven jumping into his Toyota Sequoia to show his followers how to use the feature.

On the clip he said: “If you take a look up here you’re going to see that button that says mood right there.

“This could be on your Tundra or on several different Toyota’s.”

The content creator points to the button which has a switch with an icon with a crescent-shaped moon and half a sun downwards.

He said several new SUV’s from the popular brand come with interior ambient lighting installed in the form of LED blue strips.

Car owners can find these all around their vehicle – including above and below the glovebox, below the passenger’s windows, near the driver pedals and in the centre console.

Steven then reveals the mood feature can be used to regulate the interior lighting by just pressing the button a few times.

He added: “Maybe you don’t like the brightness of it but you can see all throughout the vehicle you have mood lighting.”

By pressing the button once, drivers can set the interior ambient lighting at its highest level, and one more time to dim it.

But if you press it again, it will turn off the LED lights completely.

The YouTuber said: “So you have two settings, I’m going to hit this button ad if you watch the dash there’s the first setting so we’re going to come to a dimmer mood light around here.

“If you hit the next one all of your mood lighting will go off, pretty easy.

“Hit it one time you’re going to get it all the way back to bright and if you hit it the next time you’re going to get down halfway.

“And the next time back to off.”

The genius feature can be used when night driving to have plenty of lighting to see inside your vehicle.

It comes as drivers were left stunned after realising what a mystery button on their car means.

Posing the question on Reddit, one motorist wondered what the strange button actually did.

Meanwhile, drivers just realised there’s a “hidden” button in your motor that can keep you safe while you’re out on the road.

The button automatically locks the car in just seconds, helping you stay safely inside.

It can change the intensity of the lighting inside your Toyota
