YAHOO Mail has crashed for users across Europe, leaving hundreds unable to access their inboxes this morning.

Reports of an outage poured in to DownDetector around 8am GMT on 3 November.

Yahoo’s search engine is up and running.

But on Friday, November 3, 2023, Yahoo Mail users were met with error messages instead of their usual inboxes.

According to a number of users, the error reads: “Upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: connection termination.”

Users took to X (formerly Twitter) to complain that the site was not loading properly and seek answers from the company.

One X user wrote: “So, it’s not just me then that’s having #yahoomail issues?”

The outage appears to be a worldwide problem, though the bulk of reports have flooded in from the UK and France where people are beginning their working days.

The majority of affected users say the issue lies with their server connection.

But more than a third reported problems with logging in, according to DownDetector’s figures.

Yahoo’s Customer Care page on X has made a statement regarding the issue, so a fix will soon be implemented.

“Some users may be experiencing issues with Yahoo Mail,” the company tweeted.

“We are investigating and will update you as needed. Thank you for your patience.”

Yahoo is now asking for screenshots of the error messages users are being met with to help identify the issue.

How can I check if Yahoo is down?

Those who may be experiencing difficulties with Yahoo can check another social media app, such as X or Facebook for reports.

If you don’t have an X account, Down Detector will tell users when the apps are down or experiencing difficulties.

If it appears the problem may not be widespread, try checking the internet connection on your device or exiting the app before logging back in.

When have there been Yahoo outages before?

There have been other reported Yahoo outages in the past including:

July 2021: Yahoo’s mail service was reported down at about 3:30pm for about two hours.

February 2021: Users reported problems both in Yahoo’s app and site.

January 2021: Over 55 percent of people were unable to login into their email or read their mail.

September 2020: Users had trouble logging in to the platform, with the most reports at 7pm.
