An Aston Martin V12 Ultimate Edition – guide price £150,000 – £170,000 – has only 324 miles on the clock.

It was purchased by an anonymous owner and put on private display for fifteen years.

Numbered 40 of the 50 Ultimate Editions, the car would have left the factory with a black interior, but was “subsequently re-trimmed in the eye-catching shade of yellow leather it wears today,” according to Silverstone Auctions.

It joins an incredible array of classic motors that haven’t been driven much during their lifetimes.

They include a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 that’s seen just 1,830 miles.

This model is UK supplied – and has only had one owner, but it comes with a price guide of  £100,000 to £115,000

Also under the hammer is a “shark blue”, one-owner 2022 Porsche 911 (922) GT3 Touring.

Listed as “essentially brand new”, the manual gearbox motor has only 723 miles on the odometer, with a guide price of £175,000 – £210,000.

Finally, a 2001 Ferrari 360 Modena has just 4,793 miles on the clock and comes with a guide or price of £100,000 – £120,000.

Its listing notes it as “a collector-grade example that may well be hard to repeat.”

Silverstone Auctions explain: “Everyone who has window-shopped or attended an auction will have seen their share of classics with glistening paint and low miles.

“But what drives people to buy and collect like this, well, the reasons are many. Sometimes its fate and cars are squirrelled away because of medical reasons or a death in the family, others see them solely as investments, whilst for some it’s the sheer passion of collecting and preserving, but whatever the reason they always perform strongly when they come to auction.”

Bidders have some time to think about their best price as the Silverstone Auctions event takes place on May 20.

This comes after a rare Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 is going under the hammer and is expected to fetch an eye-watering amount of money.

Plus, a classic Mini tucked away in a dusty garage for 33 years has been sold for an eye-watering amount at auction.
