TWENTY million Brits have now had their flu jabs — as health chiefs praised The Sun’s “Do the Double” campaign for helping to boost numbers.
Uptake dipped at Christmas but surged by close to 200,000 in a week, with the daily average up by a third.

It comes after we urged our readers to come forward for both their flu and Covid vaccinations.

The shots are free for all over-50s, people with health issues, pregnant women, health and care workers and most young children.
Health Secretary Steve Barclay said: “I want to thank The Sun’s campaign and its readers for ‘Doing the Double’ by coming forward for their flu and Covid jabs.
“Now is the time to redouble our efforts, given 5,000 hospital beds are currently taken up by flu patients.”
NHS chief Amanda Pritchard said our campaign “encouraged thousands to come forward for their winter vaccinations”.
However just 34 per cent of mums-to-be have been jabbed even though the flu vaccine is proven to be safe and effective.
