The 23-year-old is on loan at Ipswich until next summer.

And he looks like he could put in a solid shift for his parent club after netting in the Tractor Boys’ 4-2 win over Preston.

With the score tied at 1-1, Williams picked up the ball in the centre of the park before embarking on a powerful charge towards the visitors’ goal.

He then unleashed a rocket of a shot, sending the ball flying past Preston goalie Freddie Woodman for 2-1.

The goal certainly excited United fans, who have seen FIVE different players fill in at left-back this season.

Luke Shaw was No1 before getting injured, and his deputy Sergio Reguilon is also sidelined.

Right-back Diogo Dalot and midfielder Sofyan Amrabat have filled in the gaps this term.

And youngster Tyrell Malacia hasn’t even featured after failing to shrug off a problem from last term.

Centre-back Lindelof became the latest man to play at left-back, struggling to impress in United’s dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Brentford.

And supporters threw their weight behind a recall for Williams in January, with none of their current “200” left-back options yet to impress.

One said: “Victor Lindelof the 200th person this season to play at left-back…”

Another declared: “Recall in January? Who says no?”

One noted: “United could do with him right now.”

Another added: “That’s prime Gareth Bale.”
